Hasn't he come clean about this?

I found out by accident, and he said it was a mistake, and he'll come clean.

Yeah he came clean like the second he found out about the rule. no pun intended.

i thought this should only be an 8 day ban?

Shouldn't he have known about the rule when he made his first account?

wasnt the rule if you come clean prior to getting busted, your ban will be lessened? who are you

Yes, if he came clean the ban time "should" be shortened to 8 days.

i did come out clean.  Everyone pretty much knew it was me the whole time, there was no sercet. I even told Bitmate about everything and how i made a mistake on adding names. I didn't now can add names on the account until it was too late. Why 16 day ban though?
Title: Re: Multiple Accounts: rule_, HelloTeam
Post by: Edgecrusher on October 23, 2007, 09:49:33 AM
And if Bitmate knew prior to investigation it should be 8 days ban.

Would someone from comitee be kind to explain?

I agree with Edgecrusher as well as Rule_ on this. This account has been made since the GLS got reset and not once has he denied it. Either he should get an 8 day ban now for having come clean to bitmate before discussion started or should have been banned a long time ago since hes always admitted to having it, not knowing u can add names to an account

true and plus i showed Flame; Bitmate and I our log we had talking about all this about me being clean and stuff. And isn't a 16 day ban for those that don't confess?

yeah like he never even tried to hide it lmao you'd see on IRC all the time...

*Rule_ is now known as HelloTeaM

I mean if you're gonna set rules please abide by them =\ I like this committee too much for it to lie to us about whats gonna happen

Well we had a lengthy discussion about this, and because we had already come to a decision by the time helloteam came to us we had to stick to the 16 day policy. Perhaps we should have taken the fact that many people knew about the two names into account more. But like i said we had a long talk about it and came to this conclusion.

The Committee knowing, and being told by the player are entirely different Flame. I told you we might change the way we view situations like this from now on, but honestly we can't go back on this decision.

Well this is different situation, since few committee members known about this prior to judgment. You can say that appeal has been made and you need to revision your judgment. New evidences has been presented. And from my point of view you dhould talk again either to leave or reduce the sentence.

I'm confused, the committee will not go back on THIS ruling, or ANY ruling?
Title: Re: Multiple Accounts: rule_, HelloTeam
Post by: Edgecrusher on October 24, 2007, 11:17:24 AM
Well I don't think they will, I just tried to point out that there maybe have been made some wrong moves from their side, and that it would be fair to revision the issue.

Great persons are the one who admit that they made a mistake (no one is perfect and I'm not accusing anyone).

This ruling, I've made it clear previously we are happy to review our decisions.

We haven't made a mistake here, thats why the decision isn't likely to change. I have said that we might consider the fact that a lot of people knew that he used both names in future cases, although some will argue this factor means nothing.

I did admit that i made a mistake. Pretty much most of the ppl knew i was HelloTeaM. I never denied it and plus on irc i change my name to HelloTeaM all the time. Rule_ is now known as HelloTeaM. Why 16 day ban?

All of the committee members would have known about it, if we actually had a committee made up of people who are actually active in the game.

amen dark... nd bitmate knew so did spook before the committee even happened. there was never a lie. and the rules say 8 day ban for those who come clean. he came clean and committee members knew beforehand and he never denied it

lekky i know the rule about "if its already under discussion its 16" but it couldnt have possibly been because there was nothing to discuss... bitmate knew even prior to the idea of a committee...

Seems like everyone is getting the 16 day ban even if they confess so that rule is just a fake and the committee only says "We talked this over and came to this decision" even though they realize they have made a mistake by giving 16 days. Anyway, i don't care so much so keep going that way if u want. :D

In order to get the 8 day ban you must have notified the committee prior to being under investigation.  Once you're under investigation you're subject to the 16 day minimum.

Well if that Rule guy told to bitmate (Who is in the committee, right?) about his multiple accounts before anyone started to investigate it, shouldn't it be only 8 days then? (Didn't understand your post properly because i'm 15 and from Finland :D).

I asked him if he uses 2 accounts, or if he just created the second account because he forget his password, or whatever.
Basically, we starting the investigation before he came clean.

wow are u kidding me? When i was on ch1ll for Rule_ sometimes during matches i would be "HelloTeaM". Or when on IrC i would change my name from Rule_ to HelloTeaM. I been having this double account for the longest time since GLS. I've never denied anything, also told everone who i am.  Like Darkness said, "All of the committee members would have known about it, if we actually had a committee made up of people who are actually active in the game." They would of all known its was me the whole time.

We all knew that you use both names, though, I neaver realised you use 2 accounts, one for each name.
Double accounting leads to a punishment, no matter how long you use them, why you use them, or whether anyone knows about it.

bitmate. the fact is that there was no investigation. the second someone said omg two accounts you should have been the one like "oh i knew that, theres no hiding hes told me those are his names"
Title: Re: Multiple Accounts: rule_, HelloTeam

the fact is that there was no investigation.
If you have evidence for that you can repost your statement.  I can verify that we had a lot of log reviews and stuff.

not what i meant. I mean you guys didnt mean to investigate anything. you didnt have to check logs or anything to verify. it was a well known fact. if there was an investigation it was useless because multiple committee members knew Rule_ was HelloTeaM and it should be an 8 day ban for him being totally open about it and you guys knowing =\

why is this still under discussion. the decision has been made. just because everyone "knew" they were both the same person, isn't actually an argument. i don't think they actually knew it was 2 seperate accounts(from what i am reading, i may be wrong i am suuuuper tired) this argument has been the same on basically every multiple account ban thread out there. i believed the committee was handling everything poorly in the beginning, but now i know they are doing the best they can, with what they can, how they can. if they decided on a 16 day ban it was obviously for a reason. i just hope they are not letting personal feelings sway their judgment. i don't know rule_ personally, but i can probably say that he wasn't one to get on peoples bad sides. he seems like a decent kid and from what i have seen hasn't been in trouble besides this, of course. so i doubt that had anything to do with the judgment of the committee. just let this go. rule_, take your 16 days and come back a new man. :D
