Hello,
It's been a while since I've started a new thread. I apologise for my lack of contribution towards the community recently. I have been very busy.
I would like to know how many of you would support a custom global ranking system for this game.
Basically, I would set up a central mainframe which would control all dp2 match servers that install my mod to dp match leaser and give me the rcon password.
To participate in a ranked match, it would be as simple as:
- Go to a certified ranked match leaser
- Enter your player name (as the leaser, to select who goes on what team, in-game)
- Tick "Ranked" and lease the server
The ranking system would enforce
- - A strict set of official match settings
- - A giant list of maps that are fair on both sides
- - Aborting the match would result in penalty
The person who leases the server gets to decide who plays on what team. For instance, they would type ingame !team1 playernumber playernumber playernumber
If players returned:
0 JMR
1 Mission
2 stomper
Then you'd do !team 1 0 1 2
When the teams have been set up, the leaser can type !startmatch <mapname> and then the map would change and the system would initialise.
All player stats would be collected. Grabs, caps, kills, deaths.
If team1 is all using a specific clan tag, or team2 is, then the win will go towards their clan ranking too.
Having a ranking system is the 7th most voted feature request. I could create this, but it would be ran by me, not dplogin.
Would you support and make use of it? Would any server owners be interested in modifying their leaser?
Just need to check before I waste my time.

You can thank Payl for it being so simple. He gave me the idea to just have a simple checkbox on the leaser's website.
