Title: Game crashes immediately when starting
Post by: brucem on September 20, 2015, 10:36:24 AM
I did a new install of DP build 040 on Win10 (with built in Intel 945 graphics, dxdiag shows 9.1 directx) and it crashed immediately on start. I restarted Windows, same crash. I uninstalled DP and removed paintball2 folder, then installed build 041 - immediate crash, with no info from Windows or DP as to cause.

Any ideas, or a way to get debug info on what causes crash?

Try making sure you have the latest video driver installed.  This utility might help: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect

Were you able to run the game on Win10 before, or has it always crashed?

Strange thing is, the game ran on this PC when it was Win7, but after upgrading to Win10 it no longer works....

Are the Windows 7 and 8 drivers compatible with Windows 10?  You might have to install some older drivers to get it to work.

If you are using nVidia video card, there are some special win10 drivers for it. Just visit nvidia.com/drivers or whatever.
