Bug: Overkill Nades
« on: January 10, 2008, 03:15:20 AM »
So I seem to have noticed that nades are somewhat of an overkill sometimes. What I mean is that they will kill you 2-5 seconds after they quit bursting. Secondly they also will kill you when you are like 20 feet away.

Sounds like you're requesting that the grenade projectile velocity be reduced so they don't spray as far.

ever think of the time it takes the paint to come down after it is thrown upwards? solution - don't be next to them when they explode.

20ft sounds a bit far, but glitches happen.

Ok that may have been a bit of an exaggeration but you get the general idea.

yarr. but how many times does it actually happen? my guess is, not enough to even worry about it.

Yup,

And when it does happen, just let out a big ol "D'Oh!"

My biggest gripe about the 'nades is that you can still easily be eliminated by the flying balls long after the 'splat' sound has stopped playing. Either the splat sound has to be revised to actually sound like the grenade exploding (and leave the splat sounds to the splat sounds), or it should be lengthened.

Well, there's the splat of the grenade hitting the ground and spewing paint, and then there's little sounds when the paint rains down.  In reality, paint grenades don't make much sound at all.

Increase the range this sound is heard on then?

what good is increasing the range on the sound? why would you need to hear a nade exploding on the other side of the map. don't be near the  grenade when it explodes.

because you'll be able to tell more accurately when the paint stops bursting out.

start counting.. the nade only burst for X amount of seconds.. once those are up should be safe to come back out from the wall you dodged behind right?  Problem solved..

On the range thing, i have gotten hit long ways away from paint grenades while other times it landing almost at my feet and i never get touched.
