Current models are very low in tris,  this request is for models that are much more detailed.

Also, I didn't see this anywhere, nor on the list, correct me if I'm wrong.

Requires: http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=11907.msg119503#msg119503

This request is to improve skins for current models, or preferably new models, and to make the skins a much higher resolution.

edit - thanks xbain

The word you're looking for is skins.

I like this idea.  It would be cool to have guns that look more like those in Crysis and the alike.

I'm just going to merge these, since they go hand in hand.  New weapon models will require new skins.

Example of what high-poly weapons might look like (without the skin):

How many polies is that? Can you show us a wireframe view?  And for the hell of it, are you going to post the .blends for the new model(s)?

Well, this sucks - the latest modifications weren't saved.  Before the addition of all the supports on the sight, it was at 644 polygons, but I don't think that's actual triangles.

Ah, that is a bummer.

644 is very detailed... by comparison the current models are less than 100 right?

I don't remember.  I think they may have been more than 100, though.

Currently most of them are around 150-230 tris.

Jitspoe, will you post a wireframe of that gun as well as reference pictures of the other guns suitable for high-poly models?

I'd like to model some of the guns since I have them in-hand.  Here's some threads with lots of pictures of one I don't have (VM-68):

Some of them get pretty crazy, though, lol.

I've attached a wireframe image of my last save.  As I mentioned before, apparently blender doesn't prompt you if you want to save before quitting, so if you just exit the program, it just exits, and you lose your work.  After looking at the detail of weapons on current gen games, I think I may go back and add all of the details on the sides for the high-poly version.

lol, awesome you read my mind.

Edit: that is an awesome link, and from what I've seen in the Brass Eagle pages, your Stingray looks fine in proportions. (The angle of the first screenshot made the barrel look completely off)  I have 4 Stringray II Ice Editions hanging around here, are they the same body as a Stingray?

644 only, for a really beautiful game, 2000 is sufficient, not less !
