This is going to fail. For some reason jitspoe keeps turning down this idea.

Yeah but the new build looks better graphics wise than the old builds.

Jitspoe hasn't just been reluctant, he has clearly stated multiple times that he'd love to update the sshots AFTER he gets a complete and good looking HR4 package that is included with the game.  So I could have requested updated sshots and included "depends on new HR textures" or whatever, but I didn't, I'm simply requesting to update the screenshots on the page when he gets the new build out, then I'll post my other request of dividing the screenshots up by features, i.e. "Reflective water" shows a few shots of the water, "HR4 texture support" shows those enabled, "high poly models"..  etc.  And even show high quality rendering of the new models with some artsy DP related background... :)

I have a feeling a lot of people click on screenshots when they arrive to a game page (I know I do, and most of my friends link me to the gallery first when talking about a new game) so it makes sense that the sshots should show off the good features/art of the game.

If he is waiting for an hr4 texture pack I will just give him mine or just make him use my texture folder for the textures included in the install.

Nah, he wants a consistent look, one the user can experience immediately upon download... I agree with him.

Make the hr4 pack standard and default?

No offense to anyone but most comps can handle the high-res textures without a horrible fps.

It will be, but Jitspoe's official HR4 pack isn't finished yet.

http://dplogin.com/dplogin/featurevote/feature.php?id=10100

Speaking of high-res textures, those were at or near the top of the old feature vote list, but nobody has requested it for the new one yet.  Password resets as well.

Edit: Oh, and the game runs terribly with high-res textures on my laptop.  On my old desktop, they run fine, but I can't load that many.  I think once a complete set of high-res textures is made, computers will struggle a lot more.

Jitspoe, just update them please. There is absolutely nothing you can say to me that would explain why its a bad idea tyo use up to date screenshots.

I forget if a hi res pack is included by default? If not, then just use the normal textures.

I remember you once saying "I dont want to update them with these pictures, because thats not what they'll see when they enter the game."

Well guess what, neither is whats up at the moment, unless absolutely nothing has changed since build 8, and if thats true give up on this game now..
