Feature: Nextmap Command
« on: March 08, 2008, 01:14:00 AM »
This would effectively be the same as "newmap" except it would wait until the current map ends before changing maps.  Handy if you want to queue up a map so you don't have to use newmap right at the end of a map but before the next one loads.

o.0 Cool.  Wondering if there was a command for this.  Hopefully there will be.

Almost useless, but i think it would be easy to implement. So just do it :)

How is it almost useless? I can think of so many places that this could be used

IS there still going to a newmap command to change the map straight away? Or is that going to be taken out?

I don't see why "newmap" would be taken out.  That would just cause problems.

If i am on the server, i can use "newmap".

For me there is just one point, where it is useful. A player want's to play map xy next and i am going to disconnect, then i can make "nextmap" for him.

well, it can be simply used to override the "votemap" command, as you will start the next map with "newmap" immediately, while "nextmap" would wait until the end of the current map and switch then, ignoring the mapvotes.
