Feature: "Rock the Vote!"
« on: June 25, 2008, 11:10:23 AM »
like CSS have a chance for the players to skip a map they dont like.
For example: When people see Midnight they all leave (no offence jitspoe) but with rock the vote they can all type like /voteskip in console and if 70% or something liek that say yes to skip it will be done

i know some people will say just all go to red or all go to blue but sometimes there are a few newbies or nonames that dont know what the intercourse they are doing so this will just make it easier

Seems whenever I play and a decent map comes up, people complain because they want to play things like blitz, ub_cliff, or box map #24174.  If an option is added so players can skip maps, the only maps that will get played are the over-played ones.

Well you want to attract people to the pubs, I say put on what they want to play. Get them playing the game more. eventually can bring in a bigger active community.

After a while of pubbing on maps like ub_cliff and Indune I learned the game more and took a step up to more complicated maps like pbcup_renoir and propaint.

I think the newer people would much rather play on a map they actually can get kills on.

what makes you think the will know how to, or will vote? it's a good feature to have, but there is no way to control the mass spam of votes that surely will come...

I don't like the idea.  Same reason as Jits.

Hmm, personally as soon as things like this get implemented people will say "Vote to Kick" and "Vote to Change Stuff".  But yeh, what Jits said is right.  -1.

P!nk, havn't you played other Games with those options?  I was playing UrT the other day and kept getting Vote for Kick multiple times.  Wasn't my lag or ping since it was 20, people do it for fun.  If anything like this should be implemented i think it should be a server option to have it allowed or not.

The potential for abuse does not outweigh its potential to be useful

or you can make it like cod4....to skip the map it needs (x) amout of votes to skip the map...so players can vote to skip the map but the skip wont take place until (x) amount of skipmap votes are submitted

also...no offence but people dont like maps like midnight or ub_cliff

Eh, if it does go through make it like Everyone registered with dplogin in the server has to vote the same, leave the newbies out of it because they might not know how to vote.
