Request: Uninstall Feedback Page
« on: January 28, 2009, 07:42:04 PM »
According to sf.net, Paintball2 is getting 500-1000 downloads per day.  I'm not sure if those statistics are correct, but there are certainly a lot of copies that go unaccounted for.  I think it might be a good idea to make the uninstall program forward people to a feedback page that has some generic check boxes for reasons they uninstalled the game as well as a text field for more detailed feedback.

Things like:

- Couldn't get the game to run.
- Couldn't find/connect to any servers.
- Wasn't fun to play.
- Didn't like the graphics.
- Didn't like the sounds.
- Didn't like the community.

I agree.

Now with that being said, maybe a hash could be sent up to the server that matches up with the user who registered, or identify if the user didn't register, to see if more granular information could be gained.

I don't know if that information would be possible to track.  It's also proably best to keep this voluntary.

And I forgt to link the vote page: http://dplogin.com/dplogin/featurevote/feature.php?id=10186

I like the idea.  I just understood why programs did that in the past but after reading your initial post, I understand.

Same here.  Sounds like a good idea.
