Levels in Paintball
« on: August 04, 2009, 07:44:47 AM »
Maybe im just fishing around in here but i think that dp should start to be ranked by skill levels like the better u are the higher level you are. Kinda like Runescape even tho that game is Terrible. Im talkin about how like they have the levels 1- 300 or whatever. but like we all start off with level 1 and keep going higher

For what purposes? What i get when i go higher in the rank? I think this isn't really an important thing to do...

Would it give any benefits?
Or is it purely to show off either how long you've played DP and how good or bad you are at it?

What's the use for this?? You just go higher in the rank and gain nothing?

In order for something like this to be implemented there would have to be a result to increasing rank. Just to show off doesn't cut it.

So we can throw getting better gear as you rank up right out the window. Don't see that happening.

The only other thing I can see is having rank limited servers: n00bs only, or pros only, etc...
The problem here is you are going to get idiots that will make new accounts just to get into a n00b only server and kick butt.

A big problem is there just isn't enough of a player-base for something like this to work.

its not just to show off as you gain experince throughout the game like there should be a reward or something like getting harder maps or puttingteams together throught matches and what-not in pubs and clan's

This has came up hundreds of times before
I believe it`s in the Feature Vote but this will just not work in a game like this

If I implement anything like this, it will likely be client side (like how COD4 does it) and serve no purpose other than a sense of personal accomplishment (plus hopefully encourage people to play a bit more).
