Paintball 2.0 naming.
« on: October 11, 2009, 02:12:16 PM »
Hey, i'm realy suprised in this: Paintball 2.0 is in ALPHA? Alpha is one of first version, next comes beta, and next final relase, but in Paintball we standing in Alpha. Why? Next thing is that: why Paintball is naming in builds? I think next versions of Paintball have to be v2.0 ; v2.01 ; v2.02 , and next, and next ... And then a build is the real compilation number.

alpha = add new features + remove bugs
beta = remove bugs
final = no bugs

The feature vote list is long, so you must life a few (more) years with the alpha version.

I wouldn't define final (if such a thing exists in software dev) as having no bugs.. Addition of new features should be as additions to the "final" version.

Yes, "no known bugs" is better :)

The next version begins with alpha again. Based on the final.
