[Request] Clan Expiration
« on: November 07, 2009, 10:18:20 PM »
i think there should be a time limit of a clan since people are compliaining about wanting to make a clan but the tag is taken or the name is taken if this was to be implemented it would solve the problems of over half the dp community including me.. i would say it would be a month depending on if the players want to rejoin it or not so if the clan dies they have to choose between a month timelimit to rejoin it or let it be deleted

if this is implemented then i think the allotted time should be within 2 weeks - 1 month.

depending on how many members that clan had. and why is :DB: still alive that entire clan is inactive and they have 1000+ members

I think that it would be good to erase all those clans who don't have members and are inactive for more than 2 years.

I actually like this idea, especially with clans who take up tags and only had 1-2 members.

I already asked something like that years ago... and the reply from Knack I think was : Jitspoe won't ever remove clans. + locked thread.

I like the idea though.

Should be deleted if it is inactive for 6 months. Wouldn't even be hard to do, just need a simple script that checks registration date and if the registration date is past 6 months then it deletes it automatically.

But nonetheless good idea. I would also like to see accounts that are inactive for say a year deleted.

Running a script means constantly polling a database of like 10,000 clans. Not gonna happen.

More realistically, you could give an inactive time frame wherein if the clan is inactive for a certain amount of time, it can be 'overwritten' if someone wants the same tag.

Dont the clans need to be alive to appear on your clan history? Wouldnt this effectively rid inactive clans off someones info page? If someones a clan hopper, it should be evident.
