I think it's fixed in the linux version.  Uploading a new windows version now.

Maybe, on the linux server it works. Does it work, if a client throws a paint grenade, disconnects and after he left the server a client dies through the grenade? It's hard to test that.

There comes the message "New version available" 2-3 times, if a friend want connect to a build 30 server with build 29. After that, he can play on the server.

Doesn't it use the "LatestClientBuild: 29"-Info from http://dplogin.com/serverlist.php ?

why u keep forcing new builds :(. Build 30 is test anyway.

But what with my issue:
It can't load or download maps.
I have the maps, but it won't load them. Just stops at the loading screen listing this message:

Requesting maps/ub_rooftop.bsp
Failed to open maps/ub_rooftop.tmp
Requesting sounds/ub_sounds/traffic.wav
**************************
ERROR: CL_ParseServerMessage: Illegible server message (0)
**************************

I can load the games solo, though.
Is it just me being such an idiot that can't install the new build or is it the build's fault?
I had to convert back to build 29 in order to play, so as far as I'm concerned, build 30 is unplayable.

T3RR0R15T: I don't think the grenade thing would crash.  If there's no client, or the client is dead, it won't track him.

The "new version" message is just there to encourage people to upgrade when it's not forced.  I think there's like a 30% chance of seeing it.

blaa: Anti-cheat stuff, mostly, and technically all builds are tests.

lester: Sounds like your network traffic is somehow being corrupted when downloading a file.  I've not had that issue installing a fresh copy of the game and downloading stuff off of servers.  Also, the download code has not changed for several builds.  I suspect the issue lies in your network adapter, router, firewall, or ISP.


Full install is up on the first post - please test it out.

 I meant that files section doesnt even have build 30 :P.

If been playing for several days now and not seen the killcam crash (i've been playing on servers that have the feature)

Also my previous random seg fault issue (that had been going on for a while) has now also stopped - i.e : -http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=16798.msg177452

However I have had various changes,  A new linux firewall (lipfire) , new drivers and new OS (currently only tested in Ubuntu 10.04 - yes Ubuntu that a slagged off in the past - new build has a fair bit of legacy code cleaned out of gnome and the entire system seems slightly snappier (still use arch as main OS)

Anyway somehow the really annoying previous issue seems completely gone !

Are there any code changes in the later build that should have made the game faster ?
(remember the last working Linux client build was 27) - as it really seems a bit faster/more responsive  (also maybe more to do wit OS/driver updates)

Whatever the cause of the fix/improvements is - thanks !

I downloaded this build and it says it has a Trojan. So whats up with that. Thanks
