Malicious Files/Trojan: open_war
« on: April 24, 2014, 12:27:22 PM »
It's a shame to see somebody with a lot of potential use his skills for something malicious.  Open_war went around distributing a texture pack which also included some malicious menu scripting that forced people to re-enter their dplogin password, then saved and printed the password publically when they would try to chat.  This is not acceptable and is probably criminal.  Hopefully this ban will act as a life lesson that saves him from getting into serious trouble in the future.

After discussion with the committee, we decided a 1024 day ban was most appropriate.

Lessons learned:
1. Always contact me before trying to release any cheats.
2. Jitspoe game security is low to none. I can't blame just him for that however, this is by q2 design.
3. People shouldn't be dumb installing everything they get.

Btw. If anyone has this file jit is talking about, feel free to send it to me. Of course I'm not dumb to redist it and/or run, rather RE for security purposes.

Hm, I guess you should've also mentioned Lumixan in this post.

He is the guy who distributed the script.

I can't understand how he did not receive a 1024 day ban.

I am pretty sure Open_War just created the script.

Do you have proof that Lumixan helped him?

Lumixan did not help Open_War. He sent the script to the people and followed them on the pubs to get their passwords.

This means this person is new to forums or just person who knows this forum and uses it to post false information. Trust me, your first post wasn't in such thread.

I'm going with Payl. You are either someone who was involved with this matter; possiblly Open_War or just some noname that is trying to spread hysteria through false information. But I doubt that your Open_War, the reason behind is that Open_war would defend himself. Which makes you some random person who has no say in this; unless your a witness of this crime. I suggest that you either prove yourself as a witness or leave this conversation. Since your obviously trying to avoid telling us who you really are.

Also, I found out recently, through some research and sources; that Open_War wasn't the only person involved. If Open_War is willing to tell the committee who and what they did; Jitspoe could possiblly reduce the ban time of Open_war. Well of course, that is IF Open_War was here.
