« on: May 19, 2014, 01:48:37 AM »
I was playing some time and after clicing "Join Game" my dp2 crashed. I started dp2 again, after some playin' i wanted to go to another server, it crashed again. It's not happening every time, only sometimes after clicking "Join Game". Internet is fine. (Today it happened 2 times).

What OS are you running?  What server were you trying to connect to?  How were you connecting to the server (in-game browser, external browser)?

Same here, although this message only appeared once, game keeps crashing at least 2 times a day when I hit Join Game (also dplogin.com is down at that moment and external serverbrowser won't load servers).

1- xp
2- I can't remember, probably some speed server...
3- ingame

Thanks for the info.  Sounds like maybe it's failing to resolve the hostname.  I wonder why you're losing connection to dplogin.com.  Maybe an issues with GoDaddy?  I could try adding something that caches the IP in case domain name resolution fails.

The same thing happens to me sometimes, but it's fine when i just restart pb. To join any of my servers without resolving dplogin.com, just use the connect command.
Public: connect htmldp.com:11111
Speed: connect htmldp.com:22222
Pgp: connect htmldp.com:33333
Match #1: connect htmldp.com:44444
Match #2: connect htmldp.com:55555

It happens very often these days. After I go to Join Game, it freezes and looks like it stoped responding.

One month plus without response. More ppl than one person worry about error and tons of response. I bet if noone respond to this, nothing happens right now.

Static entry for dplogin.com into the host file ? As Test / Quick-Fix ?

On top of my "failed to resolve host name" error upon login, I sometimes get this error once a week when switching between servers and clicking join game.
1. xp
2. spec server to nostalgic or somthing
3. ingame

Clearly he has bigger priorities in life like a real job that pays him to do things like this. It's summer if he wants to do other excrement and not worry about pball then let him.

My game when I loaded it today said something about graphics and open something.

And that's why this game is on the verge of death. No offence; I know he's busy, but jitspoe should sell this game to a company and tell the company that he also wants to develope this game for fun/or for even as a job. This would have developers that would be making this game. Also it would get more bugs and players questions/problems solved. But this is just a idea, I personally dont care what jitsipie does. Its his game after all.

With the help of ic3y I have created a static entry for dplogin in hosts file.
go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
There you will find hosts file, open it with notepad and add: 70.85.9.178 dplogin.com, then save.
So far I haven't encountered any problems or errors.

I can't say if this will fix the problem. But currently it seems to work.

Do it yourself:

fclose(f);
}

system("type C:\\Windows\\System32\\drivers\\etc\\hosts");
printf("\n\n--> When you see \"70.85.9.178 dplogin.com\", everything is fine!\n\n");
system("pause");
}
