That's exactly what you're talking about. The agreement page where you have to check the boxes saying you agree to the terms where it says you're only allowed on account and upon fracturing those rules you'll be globally banned. Where as a forum, where you're going to actually read something, is where you'd see it.

But how many of the 30000+ people who have registered a global login account will read the forums? Thats the point I'm trying to make.

And to be fair, the creating a new account page is nothing like those masses of licensing pages when you have to agree to when you install software, etc.

That's the point I'm making, the logic you both have is flawed. Assuming people actually read the agreement, and the fact that people come to the forum to read the ban list.

Right? I'm trying to say that as it is now, that is people having to read 1 paragraph and selecting a tick box to agree is better than making a forum thread. How is that logic flawed?

Edit: Jitspoe has added a new box on the registration page, which should not give anyone an excuse.

I'll right it out in letters you might be able to comprehend and read it.

NO ONE READS THE TERMS OF AGREEMENT.

Now re-read that a few dozen times, then apply it to what you're saying and find the flaw. Just because they see it doesn't mean they're going to read it.

If you want proof, search the forums for multiple accounts and count how many people have been banned for it, then try to tell me all of them knowingly did it and knew they'd get banned.

Since when was that ever my point? Maybe you should read my posts before trying to reply to them.

Maybe you should try proof reading and making changes to what you type before you send them. I know exactly what your point is I'm just bored and feel like messing with you. What you should of said is something along the lines of this.

How is a forum post more effective then having the terms of agreement there. Not everyone who plays this game goes to the forums to see how they will get banned for breaking the rules. By having those terms of agreement there there is some kind of incentive to them knowing there are rules.

I'm not going to quote anything you've said because you've already done it so many times.

If you don't read it, it's your fault.  Rules are rules, whether you chose to read them or not, they are still there.  By clicking the check boxes you say that you have read what the rules are.  Period.

maybe there should be a little quiz after reading the "terms" just to make sure non of this happens again. :D. BTW i never read that junk, but i've read enough forum threads to know it will lead to a ban.

and yet the forum is mainly being visited by people who have been with the game a while and who are involved in the community to some extent. Which is a fairly small amount. While everyone has to run across that checkbox (whether he reads the context or not), not many will read the according threads in the forum.

what about coding something like.. instead of having the rules on the activation process have a link to the thread on the forum. but it wont let them continue until they actually open the link. whether or not the chose to read the rules is entirely up to them. but this way there will be no excuse for not knowing this and that.

There is now an extra box where you have to type in how many accounts you're allowed before proceeding. Don't see the need for anything extra.

"YOU FAILED...you have 2 more tries to type in "1" before you are globally banned for being a complete and utter moron."

that works. but how about still showing a link to a more thorough list of things that you can be banned for?

But I definitely agree, seeing how much that Name Deletion/Addition thread gets spammed.
